From mobile-first access to an EVM Smart Chain
Electroneum began with a simple ambition: make cryptocurrency easier to access. Its technology has since evolved into infrastructure for accounts, smart contracts and Web3 applications.

Electroneum launches
Founded by Richard Ells, the project entered the market with an accessibility-led vision. Its public fundraising involved nearly 120,000 participants, according to Electroneum.

Lowering the entry barrier
The early product direction centered on a mobile experience and practical access. Electroneum later introduced the M1 smartphone as part of that broader inclusion effort.

A technical transition
The network evolved toward an Ethereum-compatible account and execution model, allowing established EVM tooling, JSON-RPC integrations and smart contracts.

How it works
One action, clearly separated trust boundaries
A wallet is the interface to an account; it is not the account itself. The account is controlled by cryptographic keys, while the network verifies the signed instruction.
You choose an action
Enter a recipient, amount or contract request and inspect the selected Electroneum network.
Electroneum prepares
The application reads public data and builds a transaction request without asking for a private key.
Your wallet signs
A compatible external wallet displays the payload and signs locally only after your confirmation.
Validators execute
The signed request reaches a node; validators check it, execute state changes and agree on the resulting block.
Electroneum Smart Chain clientThe official node client is based on Ethereum's Geth architecture. Running a node can reduce reliance on third-party RPC providers.

Electroneum | Smart Chain Wallet reduces its authority by design. It never needs custody of funds and keeps irreversible approval inside the wallet chosen by the user.
Secrets stay outside
There is no seed-phrase or private-key input. Signing authority remains in the external wallet or hardware device.
Explicit user approval
Connecting shares a public address only. Every signature or transaction requires a separate confirmation in the signer.
Network and payload checks
The interface exposes chain, recipient, value and fee before approval and rejects unsupported network contexts.
Reduced production risk
Mainnet write actions are disabled in this product build; testnet actions remain isolated and reviewable.
