Legacy private-key download process
A preserved, read-only explanation of the former Electroneum App and my.electroneum.com private-key return flow. This page does not perform the process and never accepts account credentials.

Recorded closure date
The source stated that the former wallet system was closing on 12 July 2026 and that transactional functions had already ceased. This is historical context, not a live recovery service.
Why the process existed
Moving from a hosted legacy wallet to Web3 custody
Electroneum explained that its former app and web wallet were not fully compatible with the newer EVM and Web3 model. The archived process returned a private key so an account could be accessed through a compatible third-party wallet selected by the user.
Encrypted delivery
The private key was delivered inside an encrypted PDF rather than displayed as ordinary page text.
User-controlled future
After retrieval, access depended on a compatible third-party wallet chosen and evaluated by the user.

What the former process asked users to do
These steps are documentation only. There are no credential, PIN, password, selfie or private-key fields anywhere on this page.
Invitation to begin
Eligible users were directed from an official account email, the former ETN App or my.electroneum.com to begin the private-key retrieval process.
Request email confirmation
The legacy service sent a confirmation message to the email address already associated with the account.
Submit the confirmation code
The code from that email was entered into the official legacy flow to confirm intent and account access.
Complete an identity check if required
Some accounts could be asked for a selfie. Users could use a camera or upload an image and then wait for verification.
Understand the encrypted PDF
Before download, the service explained that the private key would be inside an encrypted PDF and how the document could be opened.
Verify and download
The former service asked for the account PIN and password. Correct verification triggered the PDF download; repeated failures could introduce a waiting period.
Locate and confirm receipt
Users checked that the file was present and accessible. The source described a 30-minute window to confirm receipt or retry the download before access was secured.
After the archived download
The private key became the account’s critical secret
The archived guidance suggested importing the retrieved key into a compatible third-party wallet. Import behavior and wallet security are outside Electroneum | Smart Chain Wallet’s control and must be researched independently.
Never email, photograph or paste the private key into a support conversation.
Verify the wallet provider and obtain software only from its authentic distribution channel.
Use an offline backup and prevent cloud-sync or shared-device exposure.
Anyone who receives the private key may gain control of the associated assets.
